Scylla and Minos

Context: The king Nisus is being attacked by King Minos; however, Minos can't win because Nisus has a special lock of hair. Scylla, who is completely enamored with Minos, betrays her father and city, cutting off that lock in hope that Minos will return her love. Minos is turned off by her non-filial nature and leaves her and the city. Scylla attempts to swim after Minos' ship, however, Nisus, now turned into a bird by Jupiter, hunts her down and drowns her. She is then turned into a sea-bird who is forever hunted by her father.
